| HISTORY The Alamo City Dance Company's The Nutcracker was originally produced in 1993 with a cast of 35. Since then the guest stars have included Cornel Crabtree and Jenna Lavin of New York City Ballet, Valentina Kozlova, of the Bolshoi Ballet, Sasha Dmochoski of American Ballet Theatre, Phillip Gardner of the Twyla Tharp Dance Company and Carolina Capdevila of Compania Nacional de Mexico. The Alamo City Dance Company now boasts a production of approximately 100 dancers in 160 roles primarily danced by San Antonians. An annually changing production of costumes, scenic elements and choreography this ballet is a wonderful ballet for the entire family. Don't miss this holiday classic of a young girl named Clara who is given a Nutcracker which she then dreams of later that evening where she encounters mice and soldiers in a battle. Her Nutcracker turns into a prince to save the day but whom she saves his life instead. He in turn thanks her with a journey to the Kingdom of Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets. |

| The Alamo City Performing Arts Association, Inc. is proud to present the Alamo City Dance Company's Starring guest artists Stephanie Murrish and Daniil Gaifullin as Sugarplum and Cavalier respectively. Daniil and Stephanie have performed in Russia, Europe, South America and tours within the United States. He is a graduate of the Bolshoi Ballet School and she began her training with Maestro Celli, the last student and protege of Maestro Cecchetti. They have performed as principal artists with Donetsk Ballet Ballet de Santiago, Tulsa Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Ballet Mississippi, Charleston Ballet and Sarasota Ballet. Stephanie was a finalist in the 1987 New York International Ballet Competition. |
