Executive Director Nancy Grossenbacher began as a theatre arts major at Sam Houston State
University before changing her major to journalism at Texas A&M University. She is a certified
teacher in secondary education holding her BAT in journalism and art. At SHSU Mrs.
Grossenbacher studied modern dance with Wilson Barreaux, a member of the Martha Graham
Dance Co. It was Barreaux who set the standard of excellence in dance and teaching that Mrs.
Grossenbacher seeks in her teachers at the San Antonio School for the Performing Arts. Mrs.
Grossenbacher was instrumental in developing the Alamo City Dance Company as she believes
the arts will prove to be a common denominator for world peace.

Artistic Director Scott Conway is from San Diego, California
where he received his dance training at the California Ballet
School, later becoming a company member. Upon earning his
BFA in musical theatre from United States International
University, Mr. Conway worked four years at Walt Disney
World. He also performed in dinner theaters, regional theaters
and summer stocks before moving to San Antonio to open Sea
World of Texas. He later opened Fiesta Texas where he won the
award for most popular theme park show in America, Rockin'
At Rockville High. Mr. Conway has twice won the Globe
award for best choreography in San Antonio. As director of the
Alamo City Dance Company, he has successfully choreographed
productions of The Nutcracker , A Midsummer Night's Dream,
Giselle, Les Sylphides and an original production of Lepidoptera.
Mr. Conway a is also director of the San Antonio School for the
Performing Arts.
